GARDENIA
This is one of the more fragrant peonies and has a sweet floral smell. It is a relation of Shirley Temple but is distinct from Shirley Temple in the blush pink colour it presents. Gardenias put on some magic in the colour transformations they go through. The flowers start off creamy white with with a spread of blush with a centre of yellow. As the flower matures the colour changes to pure white. The size of the Gardenia flowers is very large again getting to +20cm in time. They also have a lovely rounded rose shape. This variety will grow to 80-90cm and it is a early-mid season flowerer so is a good variety to choose to start off your peony season blooming time.
